Closing time: Can Jason Day go all the way?

Tim Rosaforte, Notah Begay III, Arron Oberholser and Ryan Burr expect that Jason Day will be able to close out at the 2016 Players Championship.

Day picked up his second round on Saturday with a wedge shot to 15 feet for another birdie, his sixth of the round, and played his last three holes in even par for a second-round 66 and record 15-under total.

The Australian’s 36-hole total breaks the two-round scoring record at The Players, which was set in 1994 by Greg Norman, and was good for a four-stroke lead over Shane Lowry.

“The 36-hole scoring record is great and all, but I'm looking at the big picture, I need to knuckle down here and try and keep pushing forward,” Day said. “We got two more rounds left so there is still a long way to go.”
